Wallpaper pictures of the classic and highly entertaining "The Haunted Mansion" in Liberty Square in the Magic Kingdom - presented in 4:3 regular and 16:10

"When hinges creak in doorless chambers and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls. Whenever candle lights flicker where the air is deathly still, that is the time when ghosts are present, practicing their terror with ghoulish delight."An original Magic Kingdom opening day attraction, "The Haunted Mansion" in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom officially opened with the rest of the Florida theme park on October 1, 1971. “Welcome, foolish mortals, to the Haunted Mansion. I am your host – your ‘Ghost Host.’" When it comes to creating an all-around outstanding ride fully enjoyable by theme park guests of all ages, it doesn't get much better than "The Haunted Mansion" in Liberty Square (or New Orleans Square, Fantasyland, or even Frontierland depending on which Magic Kingdom around the world that you're visiting). From the spooky outdoor theming (the mansion is spectacular at night), to the funereal cast members dressed in black, to the doom buggies that silently glide through the mansion and bring us face-to-face with the ghosts themselves, this is definitely a shining example of Disney Imagineering at its finest. Not enough positive comments could be said about this gloomy yet highly entertaining attraction tucked into the back of Liberty Square. Fortunately to the Disney fans around the world, "The Haunted Mansion" is can be enjoyed in the Tokyo, Anaheim, Orlando, and Paris, France Magic Kingdom theme parks. The ride concept is nearly identical throughout the world despite the mansion itself located in a different land in the park. In Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, this particular mansion is themed to colonial America and is "a Dutch Gothic-style manor house" (this fact and much more trivia and concepts can be found in "The Haunted Mansion: From the Magic Kingdom to the Movies" book, link conveniently provided on the right side of the screen).Long lines are never a serious issue at the mansion, and though lines have claimed to have reached the 75-minute wait point during the busiest of times (witnessed between Christmas and New Years in 2008), the wait itself is not as long as it seems. "The Haunted Mansion" is referred to as a "people eater" meaning that with the 160 cars in the version in the Magic Kingdom, the ride can roughly handle between 2,500 and 3,000 guests per hour when operating at full capacity. A ride capacity that high virtually guarantees that anybody can visit the ride multiple times even during the busiest times of the year. The easiest way to get around the long lines is to just visit the mansion at night as everybody else is focused on "Spectromagic" and/or "Wishes!" Night time is best anyway as the evil effects seemed to be enhanced (including occasional lightning flashes that light up the front of the mansion), and it's almost always has no wait. It's a lot easier hearing the audio and getting the full experiences of the preshow and attraction without everybody talking and gabbing away. Back in 2000 in the early days of FASTPASS, "The Haunted Mansion" was briefly a FASTPASS ride with the tickets being dispensed out of "coffins" in the old "Mike Fink Keelboats" loading station. The ride was soon removed from the FASTPASS system, and since then guests have had to wait in the main line queue before enjoying the experience in the spooky mansion.
In the summer of 2007, "The Haunted Mansion" was closed for a much needed refurbishment that brought much more realistic audio to the stretch room and doom buggies as well as a couple of new scenes in the ride. Today, "The Haunted Mansion" is in outstanding shape and ranks up there with "Pirates of the Caribbean" and "Splash Mountain" as being one of the top rides in the park.
