Wallpaper pictures of "The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man" in the "Marvel Super Hero Island" section of Islands of Adventure - presented in 4:3 regular and 16:10 widescreen formats!

"The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man" is just as the name states - amazing and an adventure.

Set on, under and above the streets of New York City, "The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man" is an epic combination of a moving vehicle, simulator technology, 3-D video (while the vehicle is in motion), water and fire effects, and more!  For a ride that is now over ten years old, this is still one of the top dark rides in the world.

The outside of the building and main part of the line queue is themed to The Daily Bugle, the newspaper agency in New York City where Peter Parker works as a photographer.  The line weaves around and we get to take an extended tour of the building, going past rows of cubicles and even through a dark room used for processing film.  Along the way there are TV monitors keeping us updated on the latest news stories.

As we near the end of the line queue, we're in a room with a large video screen showing Doctor Octopus and the Sinister Syndicate.  The good doctor has invented an anti-gravity gun that can lift apparently anything into the air before sending it crashing it back down to the ground.  Doctor Octopus has stolen the Statue of Liberty with his special gun and is holding it for ransom, demanding the complete surrender of the city or else the statue would be destroyed.

The line queue then proceeds to the rear loading dock of the building which is actually the ride's loading platform.  Playing overhead is one of the best and most hilarious safety videos ever made.

For the ride itself, we take on the role as news observers.  J. Jonah Jameson wants us to ride along in a fancy news reporting and observation vehicle (known as the SCOOP) and document the crime taking place, and of course, keeping an eye out for Spider-Man.

I'm not going to go into detail here about what takes place on the ride, but I will say that we encounter many evil characters and the ride itself is a blast.  This is one of Universal's signature rides, and if you can handle simulator rides that can move as fast and intense as dark rides such as "Dinosaur" and "Indiana Jones Adventure," then you must experience this ride at Islands of Adventure.

This ride lives up to its hype and is always a very enjoyable experience.
