Wallpaper pictures of Norway in World Showcase in Epcot - presented in 4:3 regular and 16:10 widescreen formats!Opening in June of 1988, Norway was the last full-size country added to World Showcase in Epcot and brought another much needed ride-through attraction to the back half of the educational theme park.
Norway represents one of the three main Scandinavian countries in northern Europe and brings the natural beauty and mythological stories of the Norwegian people and culture to Epcot. The pavilion itself is composed of the main attraction, "Maelstrom," along with several shops and restaurants. And of course, trolls can be found in "Maelstrom" and throughout the pavilion in general depending on the time of year.Standing at the entrance to the Norway pavilion is a recreation of an antique stave church. The current display inside the structure is of various Viking exhibits including a model of a Viking Ship as well as historic Viking leaders and warriors.To me, Norway has always been a highlight of any visit to Epcot and World Showcase. The "Maelstrom" is an outstanding and rather unique indoor boat ride and has remained virtually unchanged throughout its history.Perhaps the best part of the entire Norway pavilion is the little waterfall tucked into the back left corner of the plaza. This seemingly natural waterfall is also part of the "Maelstrom" boat ride and it makes you want to investigate why the boats are that high off the ground and where they go from there. Every minute or so you can see one of the Viking boats approach the edge, pause and then rotate, and then go forwards back inside of the building and continues on its journey. It's neat to watch the reactions of the first time riders as they look out and wonder if they'll go over the falls. Overall, Norway is a very worthy addition to World Showcase and definitely a country not to be missed on a visit to Epcot.

The
regular
4:3 pictures all have a resolution of 1600x1200 (960x1280 for vertical pictures), unless it's otherwise
noted. They can also easily fit monitor resolutions of 1280x960 or
even 2133x1600 without needing any special modifications. Just select
the image and have Windows stretch and fit it to the other 4:3
resolution.The
widescreen
16:10 pictures all have a resolution of 1440x900, unless it's otherwise
noted. They can also easily fit a resolution of 2560x1600 without
needing any special modifications. Just select the image and
have Windows stretch and fit it to the other 16:10 resolution.
Warning - There will be some slight variations between the regular and widescreen pictures!
To
help save bandwidth for the other visitors, please open each picture
only once. If you like it, save it to your hard drive. You can also
right click on the link and select "save as" instead of manually
loading each picture.
