Opening to the general public in 1997 ("DisneyQuest" opened in the Summer of 1998 and "Cirque du Soleil" opened in December 1998), West Side was the second major expansion to the Disney Village shopping complex.Not focused solely on shopping or night clubs, West Side is a combination of trendy restaurants, fancy shops, and high end entertainment at "Cirque du Soleil," "House of Blues," and the high-tech "DisneyQuest."
It's common for the crowds to gather and pack into the West Side after the parks close for the night. West Side typically sees strong crowds throughout the year and pretty much every Friday and Saturday night.The Disney buses no longer service the West Side directly, but it's only a short hike to the bus stops at Pleasure Island and the Marketplace. A boat launch near the "House of Blues" takes guests directly to the Marketplace dock near "Rainforest Cafe."
Overall, it's always entertaining walking through the West Side on each visit, and it's easy to avoid the heavy crowds by visiting Monday through Thursday during the late morning and early afternoon hours.

The
regular
4:3 pictures all have a resolution of 1600x1200 for horizontal pictures (960x1280 for vertical pictures), unless it's otherwise
noted. They can also easily fit monitor resolutions of 1280x960 or
even 2133x1600 without needing any special modifications. Just select
the image and have Windows stretch and fit it to the other 4:3
resolutions.The
widescreen
16:10 pictures all have a resolution of 1440x900, unless it's otherwise
noted. They can also easily fit a resolution of 2560x1600 without
needing any special modifications. Just select the image and
have Windows stretch and fit it to the other 16:10 resolutions.
Warning - There will be some slight variations between the regular and widescreen pictures!
To
help save bandwidth for the other visitors, please open each picture
only once. If you like it, save it to your hard drive. You can also
right click on the link and select "save as" instead of manually
loading each picture.
