Columbia Harbour House restaurant
(October 1, 1971 - present)
History and photos of the Columbia Harbour House counter-service restaurant in Liberty Square in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
Originally known as the Nantucket Harbour House, the Columbia Harbour House is a nautical-themed counter-service restaurant situated on the border between Liberty Square and Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
The Columbia Harbour House is themed to a nautical restaurant that you would have found at the New England waterfront back in the 1800s, back in the days of sailing ships and whaling. The covered archway that separates Liberty Square from Fantasyland is actually additional seating for the upstairs seating area of the restaurant.
As one can guess by its name and nautical theming, the Columbia Harbour House offers a small variety of seafood. Rest assured, the restaurant also offers "land" food such as chicken strips. Even though I'm not a seafood person, the Columbia Harbour House is still one of my favorite restaurants in the Magic Kingdom.
The Columbia Harbour House is an original part of the Magic Kingdom. There's a decent selection of basic food options, the theming is outstanding, and there's plenty of seating in this restaurant, especially when they open the upstairs section. Eat here early in the day if you're looking for a nice break from the crowds, especially during the summer heat.
