Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe
History and photos of the Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe counter-service restaurant in Frontierland in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
Pecos Bill's Cafe has been a counter-service restaurant and part of the Magic Kingdom since its opening on October 1, 1971.
Originally next to the Mile Long Bar, the two eating areas were combined and eventually evolved into its current version, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe.
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe is themed an as Old West restaurant. When walking around the exterior of the building, you'll notice how the architecture transitions from a western town to that of a dry and arid climate. As you continue walking around the corner, the exterior of the building blends perfectly with that of Caribbean Plaza in neighboring Adventureland.
The interior of Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe is divided into several rooms, almost all of them themed to being a western town at night. As a result, the rooms themselves can be quite crowded and noisy at times, and with the darker environment it's easier to lose track of both items and small children.
Because of its location in Frontierland and the restaurant's generic menu, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe tends to be extremely busy at times. If you're going to have a meal here, it's best to either have an early lunch or a late lunch / early dinner. The restaurant is normally packed with people from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm.
