Frontierland Shootin' Arcade
(October 1, 1971 - present)
History and photos of the Frontierland Shootin' Arcade shooting gallery in Frontierland in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
Grab your rifle, line up your targets, and commence firing at the Frontierland Shootin' Arcade.
An original, pay-for attraction since the Magic Kingdom opened on October 1, 1971, the Frontierland Shootin' Arcade allows park guests to test their aiming skills with classic rifles. Each rifle fires a laser, and if you hit the designated targets, then you'll trigger a response in one way or another. Hitting a bird might make its wings flap, hitting a sign in the right spot might make it change or start moving, hitting targets in the town might cause sound effects or have certain lights turn on and off.
The Frontierland Shootin' Arcade has been a classic part of Frontierland and the Magic Kingdom since 1971. The shooting gallery itself is very well themed, and most people get a kick out of the targets and their antics when they are successfully hit.
Remember that this is a pay-for attraction, and the ability to fire a rifle at the targets costs a small fee.
