Opening in the winter of 1998, Cirque du Soleil became another high-profile form of entertainment at Walt Disney World.  The first showing of "La Nouba" premiered on December 23, 1998.

It's hard to miss the fantastically designed show building at the end of the West Side of Downtown Disney.  The circus tent-like structure became the first freestanding permanent theater built specifically for Cirque du Soleil.  The theater itself is capable of seating 1,671 people per showing.

To this day, "La Nouba" is still an extremely popular show at Downtown Disney's Cirque du Soleil.
