Earl of Sandwich restaurant
(March 19, 2004 - present)
History and photos of the popular Earl of Sandwich counter-service restaurant in the Marketplace at Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World.
Opening on March 19, 2004, the Earl of Sandwich counter-service restaurant brought fantastic food at low prices to the Marketplace at Downtown Disney. As most visitors know, dining throughout Walt Disney World, nearly *anywhere* on Disney property, can be fairly expensive, even for what seem to be simple meals. Along comes Earl of Sandwich in 2004, and suddenly there's a whole new aspect on affordable dining at Walt Disney World. On top of the food being affordable for most people, it's freshly made and very good as well. It's a win-win situation.
Located in the Marketplace at Downtown Disney, the Earl of Sandwich is a counter-service restaurant that focuses on, you guessed it, sandwiches. There's a large variety of made-to-order hot sandwiches on the menu along with assorted items such as soups and salads as well. If you're there in the mornings, you'll be pleased to know that the restaurant also offers standard breakfast items.
The Earl of Sandwich only has one fault ---- it's too successful. Every day this restaurant is jammed with people at lunch and dinner. The line to order food will snake throughout the restaurant, the indoor and outdoor tables will be packed, and it can be a real nightmare trying to have a meal during those times. Of course, that popularity is a sign that this restaurant does everything correctly. The workers are friendly, custom orders are normally made correctly, the sandwiches are outstanding (especially the Italian!!!), and there's even a self-service drink refill station.
Earl of Sandwich menu - 2014:
As you can guess, the Earl of Sandwich is one of our favorite places to eat at not only Downtown Disney, but all of Walt Disney World and Central Florida as well. The place is simply *that* good!
LONG LIVE THE EARL OF SANDWICH!
|TIP||The Earl of Sandwich can be extremely busy, especially on the weekend. Plan on eating early or eating late to avoid the crowds.|
