Classic advertisements from Disney News and The Disney Magazine ranging from 1987 through 2000.

No magazine is complete without advertisements.  Continued subscriptions and the successful sale of items featured in advertisements are what help makes further publication of magazines possible.  The same is true for today's Internet websites and online publications.

One of the best things about the older editions of Disney News and The Disney Magazine was that many of the advertisements were specifically for Disneyland and Walt Disney World celebrations and vacations (even for new attractions), and not just for general merchandise not having any connection to the theme parks at all.

Looking at the ads, I had many of those "Oh, I remember that!", "Remember when . . . " and even a few "I used that deal!" or "I bought that!" memories.  Those ads help give an idea of what the Disney parks and resorts and even partially of what life in general was like back in those times.  The historic advertisements featuring Disney is one of the main points of this website --- the preservation and online publication of free vintage and current Disney brochures, fliers, park maps and more.  The only difference here is that a subscription was required for Disney News and The Disney Magazine, so those articles will not be scanned and published here.

And now, after a lot of scanning, I am presenting many of those classic advertisements here on Florida-Project.com.  See which Disney animated movies were being sold on VHS (gasp!) and which live-action movies were scheduled for release in the theaters.  Watch as the ads for National Car Rental, Delta Air Lines and the Magic Kingdom Club Gold Card changed and evolved over time.

In addition to that, many of the advertisements feature classic and extinct Disney logos, celebrations, and even terminology.
