Changes in the guide map include (since the 1998 guidemap):

• A new format to the guidemap.

• Notices of "Men in Black" opening in 2000 and the new Portofino Bay Hotel opening in September of 1999.
  

• Changing of "Studios Stars Restaurant" to "Universal Studios' Classic Monsters Cafe."

• Changing of "Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream" to "Brody's Ice Cream Shoppe."

• Addition of "Jurassic Park Visitor's Center & T-Rex Attack" shop in The Boneyard.

• Changing of "Stage 54" from Small Soldiers to The Mummy.

• Addition of new "Woody Woodpecker's Kidzone" section of the park.

• Addition of "Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse Coaster."

• Addition of "Curious George Goes To Town."

• Addition of "Street Force" break dance street show in New York.
