Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC)

Digital wallpaper photos of the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC), gateway from the parking lot to the Magic Kingdom Park.

Opening with the Magic Kingdom in October of 1971, the Transportation and Ticket Center is the first thing that the daily visitors experience on their way to the world famous theme park.  One of Walt's biggest complaints with Disneyland was with the way that outside companies developed the area right next to the Anaheim, CA theme park.  The park was a little less magical seeing modern day shops, hotels, and restaurants right along the street, with quite a few of the larger buildings visible from inside the park.  This was a major eyesore that took away the feeling of being in a different land or time.  As a result, the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World was built quite a ways from the nearby towns of Kissimmee and Lake Buena Vista, and Disney owns a great deal of land around their Florida theme parks (43 square miles to be exact).  With that much property under their control there wouldn't be the fear that somebody would build a huge hotel or chain of fast food restaurants right outside of the parks, and in addition, outside influences would be kept to a minimum.

After parking their car and either walking or taking the parking lot tram to the TTC, guests notice that the Magic Kingdom is still about a mile away and seems to be a distant spec across Seven Seas Lagoon.  Now it's up to the guests to decide whether to take the old-fashioned ferryboat across the lagoon, or hop aboard the sleek and ultra-cool monorail for a ride to the park.  Either way, guests are about five to ten minutes away from the Magic Kingdom.

The Transportation and Ticket Center is the central hub for the Disney Monorail System as well as busses to and from Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.  This is also where guests can purchase theme park tickets, though they can also do that in their Disney resort and at the entrance gates to each park.  It's interesting to note that most of the Disney resort and internal transportation busses do not stop at the TTC, but instead go to a separate bus station across the lagoon near the front of the park.

These pictures were designed to fit most standard sized monitors. However, just because your specific monitor settings may not be listed doesn't mean that you can't use any of these photos as computer backgrounds. If you have a standard 4:3 monitor, just select the picture size larger than your settings (if possible), and have Windows stretch it to fit the screen. This will shrink the picture and keep it looking sharp instead of stretching and potentially distorting it. Making the vertical pictures fit will take a little extra work, but all you have to do is open it with a paint program (such as MS Paint), and manually resize the picture keeping the same aspect ratio.

To help save bandwidth for the other visitors, please open each picture only once. If you like it, save it to your hard drive. You can also right click on the link and select "save as" instead of manually loading each picture.
