Digital wallpaper pictures of driving to the Walt Disney World resort.
Like many other visitors, my route of travel always involved taking I-75 south out of Atlanta, GA until reaching the Florida Turnpike (exit # 328 on I-75) just south of Ocala, FL (former home of a AAA Disney Welcome Center and local Disney radio station). At that point, we would always take the Florida Turnpike south to US-27 (exit # 289 on Florida Turnpike), and take that south all the way down to US-192. After that it's just a quick hop over to the world famous resort. It was a nice drive down 27 going past the historic Citrus Tower while enjoying the scenic rolling hills and endless fields of orange trees. Though it wasn't the fastest road, it was still enjoyable, especially knowing that after six or seven hours on the road, the final destination was only about another thirty minutes away. In the mid and late 1990's, Highway 27 saw a rapid period of growth and development. While this was great for the local community, it made driving down that road really painful and extra slow for the tourists trying to make their way south. The extra traffic, traffic lights, and police speed traps quickly slowed down that previously quiet and peaceful road. In the late 1990's and until a couple of years ago, we changed our route of travel and basically stayed on the Florida Turnpike all the way to downtown Orlando and then took I-4 (exit # 259 on Florida Turnpike) down to 192. It was a little bit of extra driving and tolls, but the higher speeds made up for that difference. It wasn't the best way and sometimes there was heavy traffic, but it got us there without too much extra hassle. Recently, a newer toll road opened that would help change the route of travel again, only this time make it much faster to get to the resort area.Toll road 429 (exit # 267-A) is basically a north-south, high-speed toll road that connects the Florida Turnpike with I-4, staying well to the west of downtown Orlando. The road is wide open and relatively quiet, and in addition to the low cost of the toll, this toll road just happens to run right next to the Walt Disney World resort. As proven in some of the pictures below, it's possible to see the Magic Kingdom and Contemporary Resort peeking out from beyond the hills. Disney built their own road connecting the resort to 429, making it very easy and convenient for travelers to drive to the resort area from the Florida Turnpike. Western Way is the road that connects 429 to the Walt Disney World resort. This essentially is the back door to the property, complete with its own official WDW welcome sign. Western Way runs past some service facilities and the back of Disney's Animal Kingdom before dropping you off on Buena Vista Drive between Coronado Springs Resort and Blizzard Beach.
WARNING - It's very easy to speed while on Western Way, but don't give in to temptation. Wildlife enjoys sunning on the roads and the local police force has been spotted several times conducting speed traps.

These pictures were designed to fit most standard sized monitors. However, just because your specific monitor settings may not be listed doesn't mean that you can't use any of these photos as computer backgrounds. If you have a standard 4:3 monitor, just select the picture size larger than your settings (if possible), and have Windows stretch it to fit the screen. This will shrink the picture and keep it looking sharp instead of stretching and potentially distorting it. Making the vertical pictures fit will take a little extra work, but all you have to do is open it with a paint program (such as MS Paint), and manually resize the picture keeping the same aspect ratio.
