Welcome to the "Photo Safari" section of this website!
As you all know, photos come in all sizes and it wasn't until recent that digital cameras were able to start shooting in widescreen resolutions. Before that, depending on your camera and region, most of the pictures were either shot in 4:3 or 3:2 resolutions. As it was previously noted on this website, the vast majority of my own digital pictures (over 15,000 of them) were shot in 4:3 resolution. My theory at the time was that for most cases, widescreen photos made great backgrounds (even on standard monitors), but there were still photographic situations that are still best shot in a regular resolutions. That is still true for a few situations, but for the most part, the widescreen revolution is already upon us and those will be the majority of images available here at Florida Project.
This "Photo Safari" section will mainly be composed of older pictures (some of which dating back to 2001), vertical pictures, and general pictures that could not be properly cropped to widescreen aspect ratios. The horizontal pictures are offered in 1600x1200 and 1280x960 resolutions (1600x1200 may not be available for the older pictures), and the vertical pictures are available in 1200x1600, 960x1280 and 720x960 resolutions (again, the 1200x1600 many not be available for the older pictures).
NOTE - I will NEVER resort to using a flash picture on a ride or during a show! If I cannot take decent pictures using my own skills and camera's low-light settings, then I won't resort to using a flash. Flash photography ruins the experience of the attraction for everybody and is extremely annoying. I will never lower my standards and shoot pictures that way.
"Photo Safari" is just as it sounds - an extensive photographic walking tour through resorts, theme parks, and specific attractions with the goal of taking many pictures, often from different angles and perspectives. Photo Safaris can sometimes be extensive and take quite a bit of time, but then again, it's a great way to spend time while waiting for a FASTPASS to be active or to digest lunch and walk around in the hot Florida sunshine.
Most of these photos will date between 2005 and 2009, but some of them are also from before 2001.
