Welcome to Florida-Project.com!

About Us

Florida-Project.com is an independent website that takes a look at the history and development of the Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando shopping centers, resorts and theme parks.

Magic Kingdom - Pirates of the Caribbean - barker birdThe concept for Florida-Project.com began when I was going through some old boxes at my parents' house.  I discovered massive collections of vintage guidemaps as well as other Disney, Universal, and other central Florida attraction material dating back to the early and mid 1980s.  My parents and I have been dedicated Disney visitors since the late 70s and early 80s, continuing to today.  By a stroke of luck, lots of the guidemaps and other material that we've been collecting has survived in pristine condition over the years.

The discovery of that vintage material sparked the idea for Florida-Project.com.  The question was simple:  How many other people around the world would enjoy seeing this material as well?  That's exactly how we got started.  After literally hundreds of hours of scanning and editing the brochures, guidemaps, vacation guides, and everything else, Florida-Project.com has grown into one of the Internet's biggest Disney and Universal fan sites.

Absolutely everything here is FREE of charge.  There's not even a registration page.  You're free to visit at will.  My passion for the Disney and Universal theme parks is my gift to you all.

In case you're wondering, even though this website is free for you, I am motivated by money.  Taking the time to visit with a sponsor or two goes a long way to funding a future Disney vacation, hint, hint.  ;-)

The first version of Florida-Project.com went online back in 2008.  In 2012, the website went through a major redesign and continued to grow and flourish.  At the end of 2014, Florida-Project.com went through yet another major refurbishment, resulting in this current version.  Each version has been a significant improvement with the design of the website, the presentation of the material, and the smoothness of the operating system.  Starting with this 2015 version of the website, visitors with tablets and cell phones can easily access the site and its vast material.

This website is owned and maintained by myself, Dan, the amateur Disney historian, photographer, and website developer.  All of the photographs are copyrighted exclusively for this website.  The photos may be downloaded and shared on other websites sites as long as:

A) The website logo for this website (www.Florida-Project.com) has not been removed, changed, altered, other otherwise modified.

and,

B) There is a link directly back to where the material was found on this website (www.Florida-Project.com)

Universal Studios Florida - Back to the Future - The RideUnless it is otherwise noted, I have scanned, uploaded and posted the brochures, guidemaps, vacation guides, and other material from my own personal collection.  As far as I'm aware, none of the scanned material presented here was made available for purchase in any official Walt Disney World or Universal Orlando store.  All of this scanned material was distributed for free over the years in one way or another to the general public.

Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and any other company presented here does not endorse or provide me with any material that you see here.  Nor do they provide me with any financial assistance.  This entire website is funded straight out of my own wallet.  Again, taking a few moments to visit a sponsor or two would be greatly appreciated.

If you have any comments, suggestions, praises, hate mail, or just want to talk about Disney or Universal, feel free to send me an e-mail.
