Digital wallpaper photos of the "Rock 'n' Roller Coaster - Starring Aerosmith" on Sunset Boulevard in Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World! Opening in July of 1999 and still considered to be the second fastest ride at Walt Disney World, the "Rock 'n' Roller Coaster" is a high-speed, indoor roller coaster that launches riders from zero to fifty-eight miles-per-hour in 2.8 mph. After the launch, guests are thrown through three inversions and race past various sights in Los Angeles, all while jamming to one of five custom soundtracks provided by the legendary rock band Aerosmith. The story behind this attraction (yes, even roller coasters in Disney parks have background stories) is that us guests are here to tour a famous record studio known as G-Force Records, a company that "turns the record business upside-down!" The tour begins outside as guests go through the entrance archway and walk under part of a giant Stratocaster guitar, heading for a covered line queue, all while listening to non-stop Aerosmith outside the building. Guests have the option of using the stand-by line, FASTPASS line, and the new single rider line. Inside the building, guests walk past various posters and music memorabilia as they make their way through G-Force Records. The lines converge near the pre-show waiting area, though the single riders remain in a separate holding area and line queue during and after the preshow. Aerosmith is busy practicing in the pre-show area, though they seem pretty happy to be distracted by us ordinary fans & guests. Their manager shows up and wants them to pack up and head for tonight's concert, though the band doesn't want to leave us fans behind. Steven Tyler convinces the manager to arrange a limo and backstage passes so we can all go to the show, too. Naturally, we'll be riding in a different limo than the band members. After the pre-show is when the experience gets kicked up a few notches. We're now in a parking garage (loading area for the ride) watching as other limos round a corner and get launched into the ride. It's loud and intense as the tires squeal, riders scream, and the cars get launched into a dark tunnel. It's common for guests to stop and watch the coaster trains go (and also do a great job of holding up the line queue behind them). It's also common to see people chicken out at this point and head for the ride's exit. The actual ride is smooth and right to the point. The launch is a blast and racing along and through the different Los Angeles sights is loads of fun. Each seat uses five speakers to surround the rider with music, helping make them feel more like being part of the ride and not just being a rider. My only complaint is that with it being an indoor, launched coaster, it's over too quick. If the park is quiet, it's very tempting to run out and jump back in line, or to grab a FASTPASS and come back later. It's also lame how many people disrespect the pre-show, but that's a topic for another (near future) part of this website. NOTE - This roller coaster is very popular and midday and afternoon wait times can be over an hour. See this ride just after the park opens or plan on using a FASTPASS. The single rider line usually does not move as quickly as other single rider lines in other theme parks. You may download and share these desktop wallpaper pictures, but please, do not modify or alter them in any way! These pictures were designed to fit most standard sized monitors. However, just because your specific monitor settings may not be listed doesn't mean that you can't use any of these photos as computer backgrounds. If you have a standard 4:3 monitor, just select the picture size larger than your settings (if possible), and have Windows stretch it to fit the screen. This will shrink the picture and keep it looking sharp instead of stretching and potentially distorting it. Making the vertical pictures fit will take a little extra work, but all you have to do is open it with a paint program (such as MS Paint), and manually resize the picture keeping the same aspect ratio.
