When the theme park first opened in 1989, Mickey Avenue was mainly a large collection of buildings and sound stages that made up the walking tour half of the two hour long "Backstage Studio Tour." Even throughout its history, Mickey Avenue had never really been home to any major attractions. This small area of the park did have a couple of sound stages that did real filming and production for TV shows, but other than that, many temporary walk-through attractions focusing on the making of a certain movie or two have been the main focal point of the area. That being said, this was also one of the quieter areas of the park for those guests needing to escape from the main crowds in Echo Lake or on Sunset Boulevard.

This area of the park has also experienced a great deal of change over the years. The "Inside the Magic: Special Effects and Production Tour" was eventually cut down and severely modified with the sound stages and theater becoming separate attractions. The Water Effects Tank became the new entrance and starting point for the "Studio Backlot Tour," and the "Walt Disney: One Man's Dream" exhibit permanently occupies the appropriately named Walt Disney Theater. "Journey into Narnia: Prince Caspian" is the latest movie-themed behind-the-scenes walk-through attraction to open in this area, giving guests a sneak preview of the impressive movie sequel and also look at some of the actual props featured in the attraction.

These pictures were designed to fit most standard sized monitors. However, just because your specific monitor settings may not be listed doesn't mean that you can't use any of these photos as computer backgrounds. If you have a standard 4:3 monitor, just select the picture size larger than your settings (if possible), and have Windows stretch it to fit the screen. This will shrink the picture and keep it looking sharp instead of stretching and potentially distorting it. Making the vertical pictures fit will take a little extra work, but all you have to do is open it with a paint program (such as MS Paint), and manually resize the picture keeping the same aspect ratio.
